Bringing the BBC service to Saudi is part of Info2cell's consolidation strategy for the Kingdom, says Dahabra.
Info2cell.com has signed an agreement to provide streaming BBC news videos to its subscribers in Saudi Arabia.
The new service will provide subscribers with up-to-date 1 minute news bulletins from BBC Arabia, on their PDA or mobile handset.
The service uses a WAP push subscription solution to stream the content to the handset, and builds on Info2cell.com’s existing portfolio of mobile TV and news services.
Bashar Dahabra, founder and CEO of Info2cell.com said: “The BBC is regarded as one of world’s trusted and respected news provider with a very strong presence in the Middle East region. Our partnership with them to provide our subscribers with video news feeds gives us a leading position in the streaming video services of the telecommunications industry.
“Further, while it demonstrates our commitment to provide only the best service to our subscribers, it also perfectly aligns with our consolidation strategy in the Kingdom, which is seeing a significant increase in mobile penetration,” he added.
